The following listings give vital dates for various conductors and mention those cities or orchestras with which he was somehow connected. He might have been music director, full-time conductor, associate conductor, or he might have made some records with that orchestra. The pronunciations are approximate.

Some, however, saw him as a “professional anti-Communist” bolstering his fortunes through connections with conservative politicians. The public learned years later that he minimized US taxes by traveling to Canada.)

WITOLD ROWICKI
